Houston Janitor Strike

Houston police trampled on striking janitors with horses last night. The janitors make on average $20 a day with no health insurance. The companies responsible? Chevron. And Hines Interest, the city's largest hometown building owner.

These people make on average $5.35 an hour. With no health insurance. That is freaking ridiculous. It is wrong. And when these workers protested peacefully, the Houston police department rode into a crowd with horses to intimidate and injure the workers. It worked, as they arrested 44 workers and hurt 4 of them, including an 83 year old janitor.

I don't care if you don't like unions. This is insane. And if you are a politician reading this site, or a 2008 candidate, now's your chance to stand up and issue a strong statement condemning these actions and demanding that Chevron and Hines Interest pay these people responsibly.

Here's video.

Hey, I got an error on that link. I tried. Yes, I tried.

Why don't you identify yourself? At least assume an "Internet identity." Please stand up and be counted...one way or another. "Anonymous" is a cop-out that just plain SUCKS!

As we discover....this protest in Houston is not so much a janitor strike being run rough shod over by the HP as it is a movement of the illegal.... oh excuse me I should have said undocumented thief's who have stolen jobs from U.S. citizens.

Ranger1: Illegal immigration and unlawful hiring of illegal immigrants are definitely crimes in themselves. These crimes do NOT justify police brutality (yet another crime) but should, rather, be dealt with in the courts.

It is obvious that these police are NOT checking identification or arresting people for being in this country illegally. This is plainly a case of police brutality.

Also, thanks for the link. It is informative.

Ericilia Sandoval says: "I have been a janitor for seven years. For my work, I am paid a wage of $5.25 an hour. It is misery." This person is a lazy loser. Being a janitor for seven years making minimum wage (There should be NO minimum wage.) is not a career. This fucktarded bitch should go to school or something. She has no complaint just because she is stupid and lazy.
